About the artist Kwamina Brizan-Arnaud is a Grenadian born Artist, poet, and teacher currently living in the French territory, Martinique. She studied Art at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus in Trinidad at the Creative Arts Centre. She has also taught art at secondary level for 4 years in conjunction with English, Literature, and Information Technology. She has held one formal exhibition to date, hosted by the City Hall of Lamentin, Martinique together with the Public Library. She has also given crash-course painting classes to students at the elementary level in Martinique and a crash course workshop for adults based on the theme:water. Art is her quiet passion, and she loves capturing the beautiful Caribbean landscapes and the simple life with ancestral Carib pride. Her main medium is Acrylic on canvas because it allows for flexibility in showing the colours and exuberance of the Caribbean. Kwamina welcomes you to rediscover the Caribbean through her paintings.
